Nah. You can still learn from the mistakes of history. The history we know today will be faded or forgotten 100s of years from now. And the events we learned from years ago will be forgotten and will continually fade.
For Example, imagine how much more Emperor Aurelius knew of Socrates and Aristotle than we know today? Or of the Peloponnesian Wars? Or of Ancient Egypt? More than we know now. Or of the teachings of the Christians?
Lessons: Don't hold grudges. Don't worry about having an absolute opinion on any matter. Understand that all men die and that all men and legends fade and that this a major motivation for the common man therefore do not judge him harshly. (other ones also...somewhere) What other ones?
